Day 1 – Ayodhya to Haridwar

Evening train from Ayodhya Dham; our vehicle meets it at Haridwar.Charge phones and power banks before leaving.

Day 2 – A rest day by the Ganga

Har Ki Pauri snan, and the aarti from the steps.This is a good evening to confirm pony or palki bookings for elders.

Day 3 – Into the Yamuna valley

Into the Garhwal hills. Roadside dhabas serve rajma-chawal, the standard hill lunch.Carry a small snack bag and water for the journey.

Day 4 – First dham: Yamunotri

The goddess Yamuna's shrine. A walking stick from Janki Chatti is worth the small rent.Walking sticks can be rented at the start for a small fee.

Day 5 – Over the ridge

Towards the Ganga's valley. This is the day to wash clothes and repack.The Mall is pedestrian-only and good for an evening walk.

Day 6 – Gangotri and Gangajal

Darshan by the Bhagirathi. The Bhagirathi runs grey-white with glacial silt.Photography inside the sanctum is not allowed.

Day 7 – Rudraprayag and on

Into Mandakini country. Driver rest rules mean an early finish tonight.Hand back any hired walking sticks or rain gear to the driver.

Day 8 – Kedarnath day

Lord Shiva at 3,583 m. Evening temperatures drop quickly after sunset.Medical posts along the path can check blood pressure if you feel unwell.

Day 9 – A travel day

A tired but happy descent. Phones get signal again on the valley road.Knees feel the descent more than the climb — go slowly.

Day 10 – Vishnu's abode

Badri Vishal and Mana. Carry woollens; Badrinath is cold at night even in June.Photography is restricted inside the temple.

Day 11 – Down to Haridwar

Stop at Devprayag's Raghunath temple before Haridwar. It is a long day — about ten hours with stops.The road is downhill all the way, but still slow in places.

Day 12 – Haridwar to Ayodhya

The train home to Ayodhya.Maya Devi temple, one of Haridwar's Shakti Peeths, is a ten-minute walk from Har Ki Pauri.Our coordinator stays reachable on WhatsApp throughout the journey.
