Why This Is a Broader Himachal Circuit

This itinerary goes beyond the usual Shimla–Manali combination by adding Dharamshala and Dalhousie. Because the circuit crosses several regions, transfer days are part of the experience and should not be overloaded with local sightseeing.

The longer duration allows each hill station to retain its own character instead of turning the trip into a sequence of hotel changes.

Day 3 – Shimla to Manali

The long valley road via Mandi to Manali.

Day 4 – Solang and Atal Tunnel

The snow and high-mountain day.

Day 5 – Manali to Kasol

Down to Bhuntar and up the Parvati river; Manikaran Sahib in the afternoon and a night in Kasol.

Day 6 – Kasol to Palampur via Baijnath

Across the hills to the Kangra valley; the Baijnath temple and an evening walk in the Palampur tea estates.

Day 7 – Palampur to Dharamshala

Norbulingka Institute, then McLeodganj's monastery and Bhagsunag falls.

Day 8 – Dharamshala to Dalhousie

A four-hour drive to Dalhousie; evening on the Mall and Subhash Baoli.

Day 9 – Khajjiar and Chamba

Khajjiar's meadow in the morning and the Lakshmi Narayan temple complex in Chamba town.

Day 10 – Dalhousie to Pathankot

Downhill to Pathankot railhead for your train home.
