The third dham. The shuttle from Sonprayag to Gaurikund runs from early morning.Keep children and elders in sight; the path gets very crowded.

Descent and on to Joshimath. A quick lunch at Sonprayag before the drive.Knees feel the descent more than the climb — go slowly.

Day 10 – Badrinath temple

The fourth dham. The Tapt Kund's water is genuinely hot — test it first.Photography is restricted inside the temple.

Day 11 – Return to Haridwar

Back down the Alaknanda. Devprayag's sangam is visible from the road above.The road is downhill all the way, but still slow in places.

Day 12 – Haridwar to Chandigarh

Drive home to Chandigarh.The Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri begins around sunset; reach the ghat 45 minutes early to find a place on the steps.Carry a small snack bag and water for the journey.
