Towards Kedarnath. Charge power banks for the Kedarnath day.Nights at Kedarnath are cold in every month of the yatra; tents and guest houses provide blankets, but carry your own thermals.Keep children and elders in sight; the path gets very crowded.

Day 8 – Up to 3,583 m

The third dham. Bring a small torch for early or late walking.Temperatures near the temple fall close to zero after sunset.

Day 9 – Across to the Alaknanda

Descent and drive. Descend at your own pace; knees need care.Warm soup at dinner is a good idea after Kedarnath.

Day 10 – Mana village

The fourth dham. Badrinath town sits in a wide valley between two peaks.Evenings in Badrinath are cold even in June — wear layers.

Back to Haridwar. Rudraprayag comes around lunchtime.The Alaknanda valley road passes Srinagar Garhwal's Dhari Devi temple, set on a platform above the river.Expect around ten hours on the road with stops on the way down.
